In the last six months we have built a company from scratch. Classes start in just over three months. It's been a ton of work and there's a ton left to do, but we're doing it. I've never seen five guys work so hard in my life.
That means one of three things:
- We didn't work very hard before,
- I haven't lived long enough to see people work hard, or
- We're working pretty damn hard.
"Working hard" means different things to different people. When I say the team at Bitmaker Labs is working hard, I don't mean unreasonably long hours or absurd displays of self-sacrifice. I mean we're getting shit done.
So what's different now? We've got a purpose.
Everything fell into place when we figured out our purpose, including what we have to get done to make it happen: teaching people how to code. It's not about working hard, it's about getting there. Every hour of work brings our goal that much closer. Now, long hours don't feel long: they feel like distance travelled towards where we want to be. And we're almost there.
