Larry Ellison is the Co-founder and CEO of Oracle. With an estimated net worth of $43 Billion, he is the 3rd richest man in America and 5th in the world. Ellison is living proof that business is not something learned through academic textbooks, but rather an innate gift. A college dropout, Ellison is renowned for his impeccable business sense, drive and ambition. He dropped out of college twice.

Ellison came up with the idea for Oracle after reading a paper about relational databases from IBM research. He was reportedly inspired by a paper written by Edgar F Codd on relational database systems.

In 1977, Ellison jointly started Oracle Corporation with $12,000. Two years younger to arch rival Microsoft, Oracle went public a day before Microsoft in 1986.

A licenced pilot, Ellison's fleet of planes range from fighter jets to some exotic aircrafts.
